If you have poked around on my website, you may have noticed that I offer a Strategy call and wanted to know more. Who are these calls for? What happens during a call? What do I get out of it? Are they worth it? As always, the answers to those questions vary from person to person but I will try to clarify as much as I can. So make yourself comfy and grab a beverage while I try to explain more.

Who are these calls for?

Do you own a business? Do you ever wish that you have someone you could run ideas off of who understood your business and unique challenges? Are you drowning in ideas but lacking action? If you can answer yes to any of these questions then a strategy call is for you. Many small business owners are solopreneurs who are sick of going it alone and are ready to bring someone new into their business. This can feel very lonely, especially if you can see your friends and loved ones’ eyes glaze over as you start to talk about your next great idea!

What happens during a strategy call?

If this is our first call together (other than an exploration call of course), then we will take some time to dive deeply into who you are, where your business is, where you want the business to get to and what might be in your way. As you talk, I’ll be taking notes and listening to not only what you are saying but what might be going on underneath the words you use. I will most likely ask clarifying questions to make sure I fully understand but also to help me work through my mental Rolodex of tech tools that might be of use to you.

What do I get out of it?

At the end of the call, you should feel calmer and have a sense of how to get to where you want to be going. We will have identified your top priority goals and figured out the steps to get you there. I will take all of my notes from the call and set you up with a productivity system to keep you on track. This system will outline the steps you need to take, as well as act as a holding pen for all the other ideas that aren’t ready to be delved into yet. Most likely I will set your system up in Notion, my prefered project management tool but I can also do so in Asana, Trello or ClickUp if you already feel comfortable with one of the other platforms.

Are They Worth it?

Ooooh, now this is a juicy question indeed. I personally feel like outside perspective is invaluable when it comes to solving a problem you have been stuck on. A fresh mind is uncluttered with the stories that may have been created around a particular situation or roadblock and can often identify a path that we were unable to envision. Another factor affecting the value of the experience is the mindset you might have going into the call. Having an open mind that is willing to try something new and listen to the ideas of someone else is key when it comes to getting the most out of a call. My goal is that you get off the call feeling energised and excited about the possibilities ahead of you. However, f you come away feeling more bogged down or lost, then reach out so we can chat further and hopefully change that feeling

I hope this clarified some questions you might have about strategy calls or at least made you curious enough to reach out and chat with me. If you are looking for less strategy and more action, then head over to my offerings to learn more about what I do. I can’t wait for us to solve those problems laying in your way!
